Google Pixel 8 Pro Looks

The design of Google Pixel 8 Pro is amazing. Looking at other brands and non-brand smartphones, we see that take a large space in their behind due to the camera. Which doesn’t look good at all. But Google Pixel 8 Pro has used a very unique design here. It gives a simple and decent look. Its body is made of aluminum and provides good durability. And the phone feels very soft when holding it. Google Pixel 8 Pro can be the best choice for your new year.

Google Pixel 8 Pro Review

You may hesitate to buy this phone. Or you may have to consider many things before buying the phone. Below I’ve included a detailed discussion to make it easier for you to decide whether this phone will suit you, because of which features you might like the phone. Which will help you in making the right decision.

Google Pixel 8 Pro Design and display

The design of Google Pixel 8 Pro is very similar to the previous phones. But there is a big camera bar behind it. Which makes it slightly different from previous phones. The panel used on the back of this phone is not very glossy but frosted. No significant changes have been made in terms of design from last year’s Google Pixel 7, but when you hold the phone in hand, it will feel softer than before. Although the phone has a soft feel, no fingerprints will fall on its outside. I don’t think it looks premium or classy compared to its predecessor. Its color has been done simply. It uses a bright and cheerful frosted-glass back and a blue-silver camera bar. Which makes the phone extraordinary compared to before.

The camera of Google Pixel 8 Pro occupies a larger space than the previous Google Pixel 7 Pro. It is about four millimeters wide. Google Pixel 8 Pro is quite comfortable to hold in hand or pocket. But in the case of jeans users, it can cause some irritation. Its camera is positioned quite a bit higher than the back part of the phone, which may annoy you. But I think using a case on the phone would be an easy solution and get rid of the problem.

Aluminum Frame

Another nice aspect of this phone is that an aluminum frame has been used in it. Which will make the phone much stronger. It will protect your phone from any kind of damage. This phone is rated IP68 which will protect your phone from splashes of water and rain. There is a fingerprint scanner on the display of this phone. Which will help to unlock your phone. Another unique feature of this phone is that it uses a better face unlock system than before. That’s quite an improvement over the 7 Pro. It uses the Google Pay payment system, which will make your use more convenient.

Standard 6.7-inch display

It uses a standard 6.7-inch display, which is the same size as the 7 Pro. Its display is very vivid and it uses a modern intelligence system that will help you maximum while watching your YouTube &  Netflix videos. It uses an HDR display which displays equal brightness indoors and outdoors. It is an ideal feature for gaming. Because it has a 120 Hz refresh rate.

Google Pixel 8 Pro Performance

The Google Pixel 8 pro has a 6.7-inch QHD+ OLED display that performs well enough in bright sunlight. And it was able to reproduce every color accurately. High-quality software has been used in it. When you use the phone, it uses its full system, and when you keep the phone locked, it mutes all the unused apps with its advanced software. This ensures maximum use of your phone.

Battery Performance

Looking at the battery performance of the phone, it is seen that it has not been able to improve much in this sector. Because if the phone is used normally throughout the day after fully charging it will only have 20% charge left after half of the day has passed. Which seemed very little to me. It will last less time when you use its camera or record video. Google Pixel 8 Pro has lasted a maximum of 15 hours for video capture. Which I don’t think is very competitive compared to other similar phones. But it is slightly higher than the Google Pixel 7 Pro. For example, when compared to Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra, it will be far behind. Because the Galaxy S23 Ultra provides about 22 hours of durability.

Gaming Performance

On the Pixel 8 Pro, most common sense and high-end games already run fine with default settings. But its processor is not powerful enough to expect flawless frame rates while playing games with high-quality graphics (like Call of Duty).

If you set the phone to ultra mode, you can get a high refresh rate while playing games. But this time the phone became a bit hot. But normally the phone does not heat up. One can expect a lot of frame drops while playing games on the phone, as the Tensor G3 used in it is not designed properly for playing games. Some inconsistency has been noticed in the touch display while playing the game.

The Tensor G3 processor used in the Google Pixel 8 Pro offers slightly lower performance than other smartphones. It was quite low compared to Apple’s latest iPhone 15 Pro Max. Its processor score is higher despite the lower price of other compatible phones. This puts the Google Pixel 8 Pro quite a bit behind other phones.

Tensor G3 processor

Google Pixel 8 Pro uses Google’s latest updated Tensor G3 processor. In terms of security, I find it irresistible. In terms of performance, it offers close benchmarking compared to other competing phones. Although it has been noted to lack some power during use.

A delay of one to two seconds can be noticed when taking High-resolution photos. This takes some extra time compared to the time required for processing after capturing the image. If you look at the case of other phones, it is possible to capture it quickly. If you look at the iPhone 15 pro, which is full of competition, it can be seen that it took quite a bit less time to take a 48-megapixel photo. In that respect, it lags quite a bit behind other comparable phones.

I used an image editing tool to verify the phone’s image processing time. Even then I had to wait quite some time to get results, which was frustrating for me. However, Google has always said that this is not a problem with their Tensor G3. Because it is not connected to the phone device, it has been adjusted to the cloud store. Google also says that it depends a lot on the speed of your internet. I did not get the expected results with the speed of the internet I used. In your case, it may be different.

Overall, we can understand from this discussion that although Google uses high-quality processors, they have failed to give its full results. We think that a slightly improved version of it can get rid of it.

Google Pixel 8 Pro Camera

Pixel 8 Pro’s camera is more interesting than Pixel 8. The Pixel 8 Pro has a 50MP main camera on the back, a 48MP ultrawide camera, and a 48MP telephoto zoom camera with 5x optical. The biggest change is its ultrawide camera, which supports up to 48 megapixels compared to the Pixel 7 Pro’s 12MP shooter. Its 5x optical zoom telephoto lens makes the main difference compared to other cameras.

Naturally, Google will have a great opportunity to expand the reach of its telephoto camera, but for now, it’s stuck with the same 5x telephoto range as the Pixel 7 Pro. This bothers me a little because Google is no longer ahead of its competition in terms of magnification since the iPhone 15 Pro Max has also increased to 5x zoom.

Best Zoom Ever

As one might guess, Google claims the Pixel 8 Pro has the best zoom ever, better low-light photography, and crisper selfies. The focal point of this photo is Bethesda Terrace in Central Park. Detailed, yet both the shadows of the trees and the bright areas where the sun shines on them clearly define the dynamic range. I also appreciate that the Pixel Pro image has more contrast than the iPhone 15 Pro Max image 8.

While I appreciate how the Pixel 8 Pro handles portrait mode, its 1.5x zoom results in a narrow frame; Other flagships, such as the iPhone 15 Pro Max, offer a 1x zoom option. Regardless, the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s strange green tint leads me to believe that the Pixel 8 Pro more closely matches my skin tone.

Selfie Camera

Selfies work well with the Pixel 8 Pro’s 10.5MP front-facing camera. Although Pixel Shot can be overexposed in some situations, the camera still produces many pleasing images. Zooming in on the image reveals that the Pixel 8 Pro’s TrueDepth camera captures softer details than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The 5x telephoto camera on the Pixel 8 Pro produces stunning photos with vibrant colors and an extraordinary dynamic range. I will say that the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 5x telephoto zoom looks more authentic – the water flowing around it springs with more clarity. I appreciate that the dark areas of the Bethesda Fountain statue promote a little more detailed exposure.

Camera Comparison

When I got around to it, I tested the 5x zoom on the Pixel 8 Pro by pitting it against the Galaxy S23 Ultra and the iPhone 15 Pro Max in a photography shootout. It’s a close battle between it and Apple’s flagship, capturing comparable flaws.

The Pixel 8 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are closely vying with one other in macro mode, as both flagships provide vivid and striking colors with this bloom. With the Pixel 8 Pro, switching to a specialized macro mode is effortless since the phone takes care of everything for you. Overall, both photos are sharp, but the Pixel 8 Pro produces crisper results when you punch in photographs.

I usually test in low light because that’s where I usually see inconsistencies. The Pixel 8 Pro performs great in low light, almost as well as I’d expect in my background in photography. The Pixel 8 Pro’s sleek design and fine components enable it to perform well in low light. As you can see, I go deeper in low-light photography shootouts, but the iPhone Pro Max and Galaxy S23 Ultra produce brighter and more detailed images.

Following the release, Google equipped the Pixel 8 Pro’s ultrawide camera with an astrophotography setting.

Google Pixel 8 Pro Verdict

While it may not be as cheap as its predecessors, the Pixel 8 Pro is still more affordable than its competitors.

Performance, battery life, screen, and body are all excellent. The Pixel stands out from a lot of the competition due to its unique look. It boasts an incredible camera system and a plethora of cutting-edge AI-powered editing features that make it hard to tell what’s real and what’s fake. Used responsibly, they can be incredibly enjoyable and practical.

With the promise of more Google Generative AI technology coming soon, the phone also comes with a feature upgrade promise, a common theme in Google’s hardware: now better, with room to grow.

But the most notable improvement is a full seven years of software support, which puts the Pixel on par with Apple and better than any other Android phone except the Fairphone 5. A great first step towards sustainability.
