Realme C30s Review: Massive Battery in Budget

The Realme C30s came out in June 2022 around the world, but it didn’t come out in Bangladesh until October 18, 2022. It’s a cheap phone that performs better than any other in its price range. Realme has always put the wants of young people ahead of everything else as a brand. In line with this, the company has released the C30s, a new smartphone for young people. This guide

will tell you about the Realme C30s’s features.

In this review, we’ll see how the new Realme C30s is different from other phones. One 8MP camera on the back and one 5MP camera on the front of the unit we have. It has 64GB of storage space and 4GB of RAM. the price is 10,9999 BDT+ VAT.

That price was the first thing that caught my eye when Realme Bangladesh sent out the brief. I find it strange that you can get a device with that much RAM and storage space for that low of a price. Other companies sell units with the same RAM and storage space for much more money.

How does Realme make this possible? How is the gadget doing?

So, let’s break this down so that we can talk about all of the phone’s parts correctly.

Realme C30’s official price in Bangladesh

In Bangladesh, the phone is now fully on sale. You can get it for Tk.10,999+VAT, which is pretty low for a very basic phone.

Realme C30s Design and Build Quality

A lot of cheap phones have plastic cases and backs, and the Realme C30 is no different. It is made of strong plastic, though, and the plastic feels very strong. The frame’s cutouts are well-made, and the finish is very thorough. The parts have all been put together very well. The phone looks tough because of this.

Phone makers are starting to make styles that stand out in the low-cost range. For instance, the POCO M4 5G has a cool style, and it looks like Realme has done the same. The business is set up like the Realme C30. The device also has a unique back with a complicated design.

On the right side of the phone is the power button and a volume rocker button. On the left side is a SIM card slot. The Realme keeps the thin form of the C series. It is only 8.5 mm wide and weighs 182 g, which makes it easy to carry around.

The phone also has a vertical stripe pattern that looks like luggage, and it comes in denim black and lake blue. The phone looks like a work of art, but I can tell it’s not very good quality because it only has one camera on the back.

Realme C30s Display

The screen on the phone is 6.5 inches and HD. The front camera is in the teardrop-shaped notch at the top. The side borders aren’t as thick as the bottom bezel.

For this price, it’s a good screen. It’s true to color and feels smooth and sensitive. I did notice, though, that it’s not as bright outside, which makes it harder to use. You will always need to turn up the light to just below full to see well, even inside.

It will be good for media intake if you want to watch things on the screen. I only wish they had added two speakers, one at the top and one at the bottom. The only speaker is at the bottom, and I think it’s easy to block it when you hold the gadget.

Realme C30s Performance

For the price, the phone works fine. The Octa-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A55 processor that runs Android 12 and Realme UI Go is not named. This is the “Go” form of Android, which means it has been toned down so that low-end devices can still use it. Just like when you run normal apps, the phone works just fine when you run Go/Lite versions of famous apps.

Of course, when you open a lot of apps, especially big ones like social media apps, things start to slow down. They won’t work well on the phone, and it will be hard to do simple things like scrolling through a list. This is a problem with all phones in this price range, though, so we shouldn’t expect it to run as quickly as phones that cost twice or three times as much.

So, only use Lite apps. There are Lite apps for a lot of popular services, like Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and TikTok. There’s also Spotify Lite, which I think you should use. Because they don’t use as many resources. You might have a great time with the phone in the end.

Realme C30s Processor and Software

The Realme C30s has an entry-level octa-core CPU from Unisoc. It is a 1.6 GHz octa-core Cortex-A55 processor, and the chipset is Unisoc SC9863A/Unisoc SC9863A1 (as listed on Flipkart). According to CPU-Z, it has a PowerVR Rogue GE8322 GPU for jobs, games, and graphics apps.

The Realme C30s comes in two versions: the base version has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, and the top version has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. On both versions, the storage can be extended with a microSD card up to 1 TB.

As for performance, it should be fine for basic tasks. The octa-core CPU means you can use it for calling, messaging, streaming videos, light gaming, listening to music, and other similar things. But don’t expect anything better because it’s a weak processor, and there are some minor lags when using the phone. The phone runs on the Go Edition form of Android, which is the light version.

The Realme C30s has the latest Android 12 operating system (Go Edition) and Realme UI version Go Edition on top of it. This is a modified interface from Realme that has a security patch from July 5, 2022. There are a lot of apps already on the phone, and it has some useful features, like Ultra Saving Mode, which saves battery life.

Realme UI Go Edition is built on the lite version of Android 12 (Go Edition) and is made for cheap phones with basic hardware. The Realme UI 3.0 is a more recent version of Android than the Realme UI Go Edition. It has more functions and works better with the UI.

Realme C30s Camera

Rear Camera

Out of all of its competitors, the Realme C30s’s back camera is the least impressive. It has an 8MP sensor with contrast detection focusing and an LED flash. It’s very easy to do this.

Daylight

The Realme C30s has very basic camera hardware, but it can still take shots with pretty good quality, at least during the day. For the price, the pictures look very clear, bright, and colorful. But phones with better back camera sensors, like the Redmi 10A and the Redmi 9 Active, take better pictures.

Lowlight

This camera’s flaws become clear in low-light situations. Even though the pictures look good, they have a lot of noise and a weak dynamic range. Also, there isn’t much detail in the picture, which makes it look flat and uninteresting.

Putting the camera into night mode makes a huge difference. The phone can take pictures that have a lot more features, brighter colors, a wider dynamic range, and a lot less noise.

The Realme C30s takes even worse pictures when there isn’t much light than other cheap phones. I wish Realme had let me choose a camera sensor with at least 13MP. Make sure you use the Night Mode on this phone when there isn’t much light.

Portraits

It doesn’t matter if it’s daylight or dark; portraits taken with this camera look terrible. The phone does a terrible job of defining the subject, and the blurred background looks also very fake. When these two things happen, it looks like someone put a picture of a person in the background.

Video Recording

The Realme C30s can take videos at 30 frames per second and up to 1080p resolution. On paper, that looks good for a smartphone that costs this much, but the movies are really bad. While 1080p videos claim to have a resolution of 1080p, they have so little information that it’s hard to believe. The movies are also very shaky and have bad color and dynamic range.

Other smartphones in this price range don’t record videos very well, but the Realme C30s does a much better job.

Front Camera

Daylight

The Realme C30s’ front camera works a lot better than its back camera, which is good news. Phone selfies are clear and have a good amount of information. The colors seem a little washed out, but that’s a problem with other smartphones in the same price range.

This time, the Realme C30s are okay. The pictures that the Realme C30s’ front camera takes during the day are good enough to share on social media.

Lowlight

Selfies taken at night or when there isn’t much light have a lot of noise and not many features. But you should remember that these problems also happen with other smartphones that cost about the same. The pictures do look bright and have good color rendering, which is good.

Portrait

The Realme C30s’s front camera doesn’t have a picture mode. That gives you an idea of how simple the camera is on this phone. Besides, I don’t think Realme’s front camera would have been better with a portrait mode. This is especially true when looking at portrait photos taken with the back camera.

Realme C30s Battery

These days, almost every company makes a gadget with a 5000mAh cell. That’s also true here, with one small difference: it still charges through mini USB instead of Type-C. Due to the slow speeds, it will take about two hours and a half to fully charge it.

With normal use, you’ll get about a day’s worth of use. But I’ve seen that the battery dies quickly when I’m on 4G or WiFi. I hope these are just problems with the setup and first use and not the norm.

Realme C30s speaker

The sound from the single speaker is pretty high-pitched. This means that voices are generally sent very clearly, but sometimes they sound a bit boomous when turned up.

You can use the 3.5 mm audio port or Bluetooth 5.0 to get better music. You can get aptX and aptX HD, but not the more recent codecs.

Realme C30s Pros and Cons

Pros

  • 5000mAh Large Battery
  • Budget-friendly
  • Ai Camera
  • 3.5mm jack support
  • Side-mounted Fingerprint available

Cons

  • Old Processore
  • Performance is not good enough

Realme C30s Verdict

At 10,999 BDT, the Realme C30s is an affordable entry-level smartphone from the company. It has a good design, a thin body (8.5 mm), a fingerprint reader, an octa-core CPU, and a big 5,000 mAh battery.

If you want to buy an Android phone but don’t have a lot of money, the Realme C30s is a good entry-level option in this price range. The phone runs on Android Go Edition, a version of Android made for cheap phones with basic tech.

You can find other choices that offer the full Android version without the Go Edition, though they will cost a little more.
